NEVER give up!

This past weekend we had a chance to meet will many of our teen and teen parents. We had a great lesson about never giving up and how hardship is often God discipline. We talked about many many examples of legendary human beings who have met hardship before they went on and became very successful. Some of those include, Beethoven, Coronal Sanders, Walt Disney, Einstein, George Lucas the creator of Star Wars, Babe Ruth, and even Elvis Presley. Many of these men could have chosen to give up but they did not give up. It is amazing how God knows just how much we can handle and how he really is always looking out for us. This is what is says in Hebrews.

Hebrews 12:7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

We have all felt disciplined by life at times. Gods discipline only because he loves us and if he didn't we would not be his son and daughters. We are all going to try things that we fail at our we are humbled by but God is not looking for perfection but rather our heart.

Colossians 3:18-24 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

20Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

21Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.

22Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. 25Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.

God makes it very clear he just wants our whole heart in all we do. He says we need to work at everything we do with 100% of our heart. He is not asking us to be perfect but rather to give our whole effort. What are things we don't give our heart to?

Satan wants us to give up because we make mistakes and sometimes we feel life is just beating us down but God just wants us to do everything as if we were doing it for him. Don't get discouraged stay strong and we will all receive our inheritance in due time!

Kicking off the summer of 2010!

Welcome to the newly created website for the Greater Albuquerque Church of Christ Teen Ministry! We are excited that the summer is under way. Thank you to all of those people came to our BBQ this afternoon and shared your ideas about how we can strengthen our teen ministry. Kara and I are excited to build upon the foundation that has already been laid and with God, to take the ministry to even new heights. I would like to get a contact list together so that we can have more access to communication amongst each other. I would also like to get an e-mail group together so that we can make mass communication easier. Please look out for a weekly scripture and theme on the website. I am taking suggestions on things that you would like to see on this website so let me know what you would like. Thank you for all your support during this transition as we look forward to working together to with all of you.
